There's always lots of death and killing around the farm, or so he tells me as he decapitates another wasp or obliterates another white-tailed spider.
Unfortunately it seems to be true of our birdlife. We've found a pukeko carcass in the field and now a silvereye with a broken neck, just below our bedroom window. I'm pleased to report though that there are still plenty of the pretty little birds hopping around our coral tree.
