Had a trip to Melbourne this weekend where Emma and I took a social history tour around the Abbotsford Convent. The Convent was built just over a hundred ago but fell empty in the 1970s. It's now home to artists and wellbeing practitioners who seem to be quite keen on the sixties...

Coral Tree Colour

We have five of these coral trees around the house and up the drive. They're classed as a weed in New Zealand but a remarkably striking weed, I think.

Ideal Home

We went to the Auckland Home Show today. After lots of stalls featuring high-tech, ultra-modern heat pumps and sound systems, we pounced on this display of vintage appliances from Fisher & Paykel.





Unfortunately they turned out to be museum pieces and not for sale so we'll have to manage with our meat safe for now...
